Getting into Internet Poker

Lately I've been in the mood for some good ole' texas holdem like we used to play back in highschool. However most of my friends aren't into the whole gambling thing. So I decided to check out Internet Poker. Over the last couple of days I've learned a couple crucial things for new players and I'll happily share them with you.

The first thing you must do is choose an Online Casino. This is a very crucial step because they will be holding your money for you, so they have to be trustworthy. If your unsure which casino to go with read some reviews and demo their tables with play money. I ended up choosing Bodog because I immediately recognized its name from the WSOP and many reviews say it's a good place to start as a beginner.

If you do sign up with Bodog please use my referral number: P16AD101

Once you've signed up with Bodog and downloaded their software, I'd recommend playing some practice games. If you haven't played in a while this is a good time to review Holdem strategy, work on reading players, and bluffing. I have to warn you though. Real games are 100% different then practice. Now that you've got yourself warmed up it's time to get some real money involved. If your credit and debit card providers are like mine they WON'T let you make purchases related to gambling which is complete bullsh*t. There is however an extremely easy way around this, a pre-paid visa debit card. The one that Bodog recommended to me was called Netspend AllAccess. It's non-reloadable and you can find it just about anywhere. Once you've got your card and made your deposit, you'll be happy to find an extra $10 in your account. Also if you contact Bodog and tell them about the "hassle" it was to get your money into your account they will likely refund the cost of the pre-paid card as well. Now go join a table and enjoy some poker!
